Current obstacles

  • Products change fastServer and GPU designs change every year, so lines must be reset quickly to stay useful.

Physics limits

  • Small tolerances add upEvery part and fixture is slightly off, and the errors stack. Inserting a fine connector needs sub-millimetre alignment, so robots must measure and correct each time with vision or force.
  • Cables and flexible parts resist robotsCables and ribbon connectors bend unpredictably and hide their ends. Routing and plugging them remains one of the hardest steps to automate.

Cells

Standard robotic cells

Each Bright Robotic Cell is a standard enclosure with a robot arm, conveyor, cameras and tools. Cells bolt together into a line.

Software

Brightware runs the line

Brightware programs the cells, uses vision to locate parts and records data on every unit built.

Hybrid

People inside the cell

The Hybrid BRC (2026) lets operators work inside sensor-monitored cells on steps too fiddly for robots.

Jobs

AI hardware assembly

Typical work: installing GPUs and memory in servers, driving screws and inspecting boards.

Bright Machines

Reprogrammable robot assembly lines for AI servers

Bright Machines builds robotic assembly lines that are changed with software rather than rebuilt, now mostly for AI servers and GPUs. Its Brightware software runs the robots, cameras and inspection.

  • Raised $126M in 2024 led by BlackRock-managed funds, with NVIDIA, Microsoft, Eclipse and Jabil.
  • Focus has shifted to assembling AI data-center hardware.
  • Launched Hybrid BRC in July 2026, letting people work safely inside monitored robot cells.
