The brief
- UC Davis trial cut methane by 95%; other US trials showed 4-11% feed conversion gains.
- Raised $12M seed round from Breakthrough Energy and Harvest Road; additional funding in March 2026.
- Commercial launch planned for late 2027 in Brazil, then Latin America.
Technical approach
Inactive until digestion
The additive is a prodrug: inactive when consumed but converted into bromoform inside the rumen by natural digestive processes.
Inhibits rumen enzymes
Bromoform blocks the enzymes (methanogens) that cattle normally use to produce methane, reducing emissions without harming the animal.
Improves feed efficiency
Field trials show 4-11% improvement in feed conversion; cattle gain weight on less feed.
