The brief
- Pledged Rs 10 lakh crore (about $110B) over seven years for AI infrastructure and services (Feb 2026).
- First 120 MW of AI computing at Jamnagar, on NVIDIA GB300 chips, due to be commissioned by end of 2026.
- Building a 168 MW data centre at Jamnagar that Meta will lease, due within two years of June 2026.
Technical approach
Its own solar power
Reliance says it has about 10 GW of surplus solar capacity in Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh, so its AI halls need not wait on the public grid.
Jamnagar industrial base
Next to its giant refinery, with land, seawater for cooling, western submarine cable landings and Jio's fibre network nearby.
Own compute plus build-to-suit
Runs its own GPU cloud for Jio and Indian firms, and builds and operates halls that big tech companies lease, like Meta's 168 MW.
Jio as the distribution channel
AI services are sold through Jio's phone and home customers, in 22 Indian languages, with the stated aim of making AI much cheaper for Indians by 2030.
