The brief
- Lucid Motors designs luxury EVs with a focus on efficiency. The Lucid Air achieves 146 MPGe, among the most efficient production sedans.
- The Gravity SUV launched customer deliveries in April 2025; the company targets 25,000–27,000 units annually by 2026.
- Lucid supplies drivetrains to Nuro for a robotaxi partnership with Uber, and is developing a mass-market platform to launch in late 2026.
Technical approach
Independent motor architecture
146 MPGe via motor efficiency, thermal management, and aerodynamics. Independent motors per axle improve efficiency and handling.
Shared modular chassis
Both sedans and the Gravity SUV share underlying EV architecture, enabling rapid development of new body styles using proven powertrains and batteries.
Next-generation powertrain
New motors more compact and efficient than current models, targeting the $50,000 segment with three vehicle variants to be built in Saudi Arabia.
