The brief
- Merged with OneWeb in 2023, combining GEO and LEO networks for global broadband.
- 654 OneWeb LEO satellites operating at 1,200 km altitude for enterprise and government.
- Ordered 669 additional satellites from Airbus in 2026 for launches through 2028.
Technical approach
OneWeb pole-to-pole coverage
654 satellites at 1,200 km in 12 orbital planes with near-polar inclination. Each 148 kg satellite carries Ku-band payload.
GEO and LEO integration
Eutelsat's geostationary fleet combined with OneWeb's LEO constellation allows serving fixed and mobile users with a single hybrid terminal.
Scale-up in production
Airbus is manufacturing additional satellites at scale, with delivery targets across 2026-2028 to expand the OneWeb constellation.
