The brief
- Raised $102.5M in October 2025, including a $60M Series A led by Plural; aims for a CoMind One launch in 2027.
- Its research prototype, CoMind R1, was described in two peer-reviewed Neurophotonics papers in March 2026.
- Earlier clinical studies ran in London and Barcelona; a third, in the US, is meant to support an FDA submission.
Technical approach
Laser light that reaches the brain
Infrared laser light (1064 nm) passes through skin and skull; a little scatters back off moving blood cells in the brain and is collected at the forehead.
Keep only the late photons
Light that took longer than about 1 ns travelled deeper. Sorting photons by travel time filters out the scalp and keeps the brain's signal.
Mix with a reference beam
Returning light is combined with a reference beam from the same laser, which amplifies the faint signal enough to read blood flow beat by beat.
From flow to pressure
The pulsing flow signal is used to estimate blood flow, the brain's ability to regulate it, and intracranial pressure, all continuously at the bedside.
