The brief
- AutoStore operates ~1,450 installations in 54 countries, using 75% less floor space than traditional shelving.
- CubeVerse (launched March 2026) adds cloud orchestration and AI to manage multi-vendor warehouse systems.
- Oslo-listed October 2021 at 103.4 billion NOK valuation (~$1.8B); now trading at ~54.2 billion NOK market cap.
Technical approach
Vertical storage racks
Totes stack in vertical cube frames accessed by overhead robots (sequencers). Robots reach down through layers to grab items in seconds.
Fast multi-level access
Sequencers use pulleys and precise motion to reach items. Multiple robots work the same stack in parallel.
Cloud orchestration layer
CubeVerse integrates AutoStore with external warehouse software, provides real-time analytics and optimizes routing.
High-density storage
The cube system uses 75% less floor space than traditional shelving for the same throughput, because items stack vertically and robots work multiple layers.
