Xuntian team completes a pixel-level simulation of the whole telescope ahead of launch

China Manned Space Agency/Xuntian (CSST) space telescope

A team led by the National Astronomical Observatories of China built an end-to-end simulator that produces mock data for Xuntian's main optics and its instruments, down to individual pixels. It is a rehearsal to check data processing and observing strategy before the telescope flies.
