Waymo launches Ojai robotaxi built by Zeekr, begins public rides

Waymo launched its next-generation robotaxi, the Ojai, built exclusively by Zeekr on the SEA-M platform and outfitted with Waymo's sixth-generation autonomous driving stack in Arizona. Select riders in San Francisco, Phoenix, and Los Angeles signed up for free rides. The Ojai features 13 cameras, six radars, and four lidar units for autonomous perception.

  • Ojai is the first purpose-built robotaxi on Zeekr's SEA-M platform, integrating Waymo's autonomous stack.
  • Vehicles are built in China by Zeekr and shipped to Arizona for sensor and compute outfitting.
  • Waymo plans expansion to Denver, Las Vegas, Miami, Dallas, and Houston by late 2026.
