Volvo increases FH Aero Electric range to 700 km with new e-axle design

Volvo GroupVolvo FH Aero Electric

Volvo unveiled the FH Aero Electric with up to 700 km range, made possible by a new e-axle that integrates the dual motors and six-speed transmission into the rear axle. The design frees chassis space for up to 780 kWh of batteries. Megawatt Charging System (MCS) support enables 20–80% charge in 50 minutes, setting a new benchmark for long-haul electric trucks.

  • E-axle integration eliminates bulky under-frame components, adding up to 60 kWh of battery capacity vs. previous models.
  • 48-tonne gross weight and up to 28-tonne payload match diesel truck capability.
  • Production begins Q2 2026 with customer orders from summer 2026.
