Valeo wins two major SCALA 3 contracts, including a US robotaxi company; orders pass €1 billion

Valeo announced SCALA 3 contracts with a leading Asian carmaker and a leading American robotaxi company, taking orders for the sensor above €1 billion. It said SCALA 3 extends Level 3 driving to wider areas and speeds up to 130 km/h and makes robotaxi deployment at scale possible.

• Over 12 million points per second, 16 times SCALA 2
• Detection range 200 m for dark objects and 300 m for bright ones
• Software detects blockage, rain and spray and checks its own calibration
