Tesla Semi volume production begins at Nevada Gigafactory; Standard Range and Long Range variants ramping
Tesla achieved volume production of the Tesla Semi at its Nevada Gigafactory starting April 29, 2026, ramping from pilot builds to high-volume assembly. The Semi is available in two variants: Standard Range (325 miles) and Long Range (500 miles), both with 1.7 kWh/mile efficiency and powered by three rear motors totaling 800 kW. Peak charging reaches 1.2 MW, recovering 60% battery in 30 minutes.
- Standard Range: 325 miles, under 20,000 lbs, designed for regional hauls.
- Long Range: 500 miles, approximately 23,000 lbs, with 1.2 MW charging for long-haul routes.
- Both carry 82,000 lb gross combination weight at 1.7 kWh/mile efficiency.
