Stellantis cancels the all-electric Ram 1500 pickup; the range-extended Ramcharger takes the REV name
StellantisRam 1500 REV (range-extended)
Stellantis discontinued development of its full-size battery-electric Ram pickup, citing slowing demand for electric trucks in North America. The range-extended Ramcharger, which uses a petrol engine only as a generator, takes its place and is renamed Ram 1500 REV. The all-electric truck had slipped from late 2024 to mid-2027 before being cancelled.
- Ram 1500 REV (ex-Ramcharger): 92 kWh battery, 3.6-litre V6 generator, 27-gallon tank, two electric motors
- Ram claims up to 690 miles total range and about 145 miles on electricity alone
- Electrek expected pricing around $75,000 closer to launch
- The all-electric pickup was first due by the end of 2024, then 2025, 2026 and mid-2027 before cancellation
