Q-CTRL installs Fire Opal on RIKEN's IBM Quantum System Two beside the Fugaku supercomputer

Q-CTRL/Fire Opal

Fire Opal was integrated with the IBM Quantum System Two at RIKEN in Kobe, which sits next to Japan's Fugaku supercomputer. It is Q-CTRL's first on-premises deployment at a supercomputing centre, serving dozens of research groups in chemistry, machine learning and physics.

• Part of Japan's JHPC-quantum project, commissioned by NEDO under METI.
• Its second major Fire Opal deployment in Japan, after Keio University.
