PSYONIC's Ability Hand becomes a native asset in NVIDIA Isaac Lab for robot learning

PSYONICAbility Hand

At NVIDIA GTC, PSYONIC and NVIDIA announced that the Ability Hand is now built into Isaac Lab, so researchers can simulate, train and test AI grasping policies on it. Because prosthesis users wear the same hardware, their real manipulation data can train robots directly, which PSYONIC calls real-to-real transfer.

  • Demo: a human wearing the hand pipetted; the data then trained industrial arms, robot dogs and humanoids
  • The hand extracts 21 motion keypoints that can be retargeted to different robot bodies
  • Loop: simulate in Isaac Lab, deploy on hardware, capture human-guided data, retrain
