Plenty Unlimited opened a new 40,000 sq ft indoor vertical farm in Richmond, Virginia designed to grow over 4 million pounds of Driscoll's strawberries per year. The facility uses AI-powered climate control and stacked 30-foot towers to achieve 97% less land use and 90% less water use than conventional field farming, with first berries expected in early 2025.
