Periodic Labs emerged from stealth with $300M in seed funding at $1.3B valuation, led by Andreessen Horowitz. Co-founded by Liam Fedus (former OpenAI VP of Research, co-creator of ChatGPT) and Ekin Doğuş Çubuk (former Google DeepMind materials researcher), the company pairs AI hypothesis generation with autonomous robotic laboratories to discover new materials.
