Mercedes-Benz unveils MMA platform with 800-volt architecture and MB.OS operating system at IAA Munich
Mercedes-BenzMMA Platform (CLA EV)
At the 2023 IAA Mobility show in Munich, Mercedes unveiled the Modular Architecture (MMA) platform designed specifically for electric vehicles, featuring an 800-volt electrical system that enables 320 kW charging. The platform will debut in the 2026 CLA EV, which is also the first car to feature MB.OS, Mercedes' custom operating system built on a supercomputer with NVIDIA DRIVE Orin and AI capabilities.
- MMA is purpose-built for electric powertrains, accommodating flexible battery packs and can also support hybrid variants.
- 800V system enables 320 kW charging, adding up to 325 km of range in 10 minutes—among the fastest in premium EVs.
- MB.OS integrates Google Maps and services while managing vehicle systems with machine learning and will support conditional autonomous driving (SAE Level 3).
