Mars and Perfect Day launched CO2COA, an animal-free chocolate bar made with ProFerm whey protein. The product marked a major milestone for precision fermentation in mainstream confectionery, featuring Rainforest Alliance-certified cocoa and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by about a third compared to conventional milk chocolate.
