Lockheed Martin gets $509.7M for GPS IIIF satellites 21 and 22

The Pentagon ordered two more GPS IIIF satellites, SV21 and SV22, from Lockheed Martin, taking the program above $4.1 billion. Assembly of key structures was complete for the first four satellites and the core of the first had been mated. Nearly half the current GPS constellation had outlived its design life.

  • Built in Littleton, Colorado; delivery expected by late 2031.
  • Up to 60 times better anti-jamming than legacy GPS.
  • From SV13, a new LM2100 Combat Bus adds cyber-hardening and more power.
