L3Harris plans a large solid rocket motor campus in Camden with six times today's capacity

L3Harris Technologies/Missile Solutions rocket motor expansion

L3Harris announced a campus of more than 20 buildings on 110 acres in Camden for large solid rocket motors, used in interceptors, hypersonic vehicles and missile-defence targets. It is part of nearly $500M the company is investing across its motor plants.

• Adds over 130,000 sq ft to a 2,000-acre site with about 1,300 workers.
• Large-motor manufacturing capacity is expected to rise six-fold.
• Construction to begin in 2025, production in 2027.
• The equipment is program-agnostic, so output can follow demand.
