Jingye plans a 400-printer metal 3D printing campus in Guangdong for smartphone parts
Jingye Future Smart Manufacturing, a unit of Chinese steelmaker Jingye Group, is building a metal-parts campus in Fengshun County, Guangdong. The RMB 5 billion (about $700 million) plan starts with precision parts for foldable-phone hinges and camera modules, and later adds robotics, liquid-cooling and medical components. At full output it is meant to make RMB 10 billion of parts a year.
- Two phases: RMB 2 billion first, then roughly RMB 3 billion.
- Planned equipment: 400 metal 3D printers, 20 metal powder lines and 100 metal injection molding lines.
- Partial production is targeted before the end of 2026; construction is already underway.
- At full capacity the site is expected to employ more than 1,000 people.
- Titanium 3D-printed hinges are already in some foldable phones, such as the OPPO Find N5.
