Isar Aerospace selected to launch Astroscale's ADRAS-J2 active debris removal mission

On September 1, 2026, Isar Aerospace signed a launch service agreement with Astroscale Japan to conduct the ADRAS-J2 active debris removal mission from Andøya Space in Norway. ADRAS-J2 will demonstrate active removal by capturing and deorbiting a 3-ton rocket upper stage, with launch targeted for 2027–2028 as part of JAXA's Commercial Removal of Debris Demonstration project.
