Google brings Lyria 3 music generation to the Gemini app

Gemini users can now make 30-second songs with Google DeepMind's Lyria 3 by describing an idea or uploading a photo or video. The model writes lyrics itself and gives more control over style, vocals and tempo. Every track is watermarked with SynthID.

• Beta for users 18+ in eight languages; paid tiers get higher limits.
• Also powers YouTube's Dream Track for Shorts soundtracks.
• Naming an artist is treated as broad style inspiration, not imitation.
• Gemini can now check whether an uploaded audio file was made by Google AI.
