GM completes closed-loop EV battery recycling pilot with Cirba Solutions, producing 100% recycled cathode active material

Cirba Solutions/Battery recycling network (six operating sites)

General Motors completed a closed-loop pilot with Cirba Solutions in which 80 end-of-life EV batteries were recycled into 12 metric tons of cathode active material containing 100% recovered nickel, cobalt and manganese. Ultium Cells produced battery cells with the recycled material, supplied to new Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC vehicles.
