With sparse mixture-of-experts architecture activating 40B parameters per token, GLM-5 topped Artificial Analysis and LMArena open-weight rankings. It achieved AI2 Intelligence Index 50 (first open model to do so), SWE-bench Verified 77.8%, and AIME 2026 92.7%, matching or exceeding many closed frontier models while costing $1/M input tokens.
