Gilmour targets end of 2026 for Eris TestFlight 2, after a suborbital hypersonic test

Gilmour Space said it was looking at the end of 2026 for its second orbital attempt. First it planned a suborbital hypersonic test flight, pending approvals and key pre-flight tests, with further timing depending on that flight. The company's mission page now lists TestFlight 2 as no earlier than early 2027.

• TestFlight 1 in July 2025 lasted 14 seconds before crashing near the pad.
• Gilmour received a A$5M federal grant in 2025 for a next-generation liquid engine.
