Fujitsu and RIKEN announce 1,000-qubit target for 2026

Fujitsu/Superconducting Quantum Computer Roadmap

With the 256-qubit system live, Fujitsu and RIKEN announced the next milestone: a 1,000-qubit quantum computer to be installed at Fujitsu Technology Park in 2026, marking a fourfold increase from the 256-qubit generation.

• 1,000-qubit system installation targeted for 2026
• New quantum building under construction at Fujitsu Technology Park (Kawasaki)
• Building completion scheduled by September 2025 to prepare for system installation
