Flagship Pioneering unveils Lila Sciences, a startup building scientific superintelligence through autonomous AI labs
Flagship Pioneering announced Lila Sciences, founded in its labs by Geoffrey von Maltzahn, Noubar Afeyan, Molly Gibson, Rafael Gómez-Bombarelli and others. The company raised $200 million in seed capital to develop Lila Iris (a frontier AI reasoning model) and AI Science Factories (autonomous robotic laboratories) for drug discovery, advanced materials and chemical synthesis.
