Surgeons at Huashan Hospital affiliated with Fudan University in Shanghai performed the world's first commercial implant of a regulator-approved invasive BCI on July 13, 2026. The patient, paralyzed in a car accident, received the NEO implant and showed stable function with successful capture of high-quality brain signals.
