European Space Agency awards D-Orbit €119.6 million contract for GEA in-orbit servicing vehicle

The European Space Agency awarded D-Orbit a €119.6 million contract under the Space Safety programme to develop GEA, an in-orbit servicing vehicle for geostationary operations. The RISE demonstration mission targets 2028, testing rendezvous, docking and satellite life-extension capabilities with support from Italian, UK, German, Swiss and Spanish space agencies.
