ESA Hera mission targets early arrival at Didymos asteroid in November 2026 to measure DART impact
ESA announced that the Hera mission, a follow-up to NASA's 2022 DART impact test on asteroid Didymos, will arrive one month earlier than initially scheduled, in November 2026 instead of December. The early arrival allows Hera to begin detailed surveying of the impact crater and measuring orbital changes caused by the kinetic strike.
