EcoPro BM invests $29M to convert a cathode line to produce NCA-manganese for German automaker

EcoPro BM announced a KRW 40 billion ($29 million) upgrade to convert a nickel-cobalt-aluminum line to produce hybrid NCA-manganese cathodes. The upgraded line will supply cathodes to an unnamed German luxury carmaker starting Q4 2027, ramping to 1,200 tonnes per year. The investment demonstrates OEM demand for lower-cost, manganese-stabilized high-nickel cathodes.
