DeepSeek-V4-Pro becomes generally available
DeepSeek made V4-Pro generally available, with upgraded agent abilities, in its app and web "Expert Mode" and through the API under the same model names. It added three reasoning-effort levels and native support for OpenAI's Responses API, so tools such as the Codex coding agent can use it with one-click setup. Off-peak API prices are half the peak rate.
- Effort levels: low for simple tasks, high for everyday agent work, max for complex problems (also on V4-Flash)
- Off-peak pricing took effect at 16:00 UTC on 16 August 2026
- Time-of-day pricing lets customers shift batch jobs to cheaper hours and fill idle GPU capacity
