DARPA selects Quandela for Stage A of Quantum Benchmarking Initiative; photonic approach enters government evaluation
DARPA selected Quandela to participate in Stage A of the Quantum Benchmarking Initiative, a program tasked with auditing whether quantum computing approaches can achieve utility-scale operation by 2033. Quandela will deliver a six-month plausibility report on its Spin-Optical Quantum Computing (SPOQC) hybrid architecture combining photonic connectivity with spin-mediated gates.
- Stage A is a six-month effort to assess engineering feasibility of fault-tolerant photonic baseline
- Quandela's SPOQC framework merges linear-optical photons with semiconductor quantum dots for high-speed logic
- Selected alongside 17 other quantum companies in QBI initial cohort
