Cognition publicly demonstrated Devin, an autonomous AI software engineer that understands the full software engineering process: planning, coding, testing, debugging and shipping. Unlike code assistants that require line-by-line guidance, Devin accepts engineering problems as specifications and works end-to-end to solve them.

• Can plan full solutions from specifications, not just complete code lines
• Writes code, runs tests, reads error messages and iteratively debugs without human intervention
• Understands existing codebases and contributes code consistent with project style
• Works in multiple interfaces: cloud agents, CLI, IDE and pull-request review tools
