China approves Edge's combined single-port and multi-port surgical robot platform

Edge Medical/Edge Single-Port Surgical Robot (SP1000)

China's regulator approved Edge's integrated platform, which lets one surgeon console drive either its single-port or its multi-port robot arm cart. The same platform had received an EU CE mark in October 2025. Edge began selling it as a package in the first half of 2026.

• NMPA approval in March 2026; EU CE mark in October 2025.
• Hospitals share one console and 3D vision system between the two robot types.
• Lowers purchase and maintenance cost for hospitals that want both approaches.
