CH4 Global begins production at the first commercial-scale Asparagopsis growing facility in South Australia

The first phase of CH4 Global's EcoPark at Louth Bay, South Australia, opened with ten 200,000-litre ponds producing more than 80 tonnes of Asparagopsis a year. The company planned to reach 100 ponds, enough for 45,000 cattle a day, within a year, and up to 500 ponds with more investment.

  • Fed at under 0.5% of the diet, the supplement cuts burped methane by up to 90%, the company says
  • CEO Steve Meller expects gross margins above 40%
  • Partners include Mitsubishi Corp, UPL and Lotte; CirPro has an offtake deal
