Bechtel Plant Machinery picks Lincoln Electric to print naval propulsion parts up to 20,000 lb

Bechtel Plant Machinery, a prime contractor for the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, chose Lincoln Electric for a development program to print large propulsion components. The parts measure almost 10 feet across and weigh up to 20,000 pounds.

• Lincoln says its process prints large metal parts up to eight times faster than casting or forging.
• Printed directly from CAD files on its Cleveland platform.
