Baidu releases its ERNIE 4.5 model family as open weights under Apache 2.0

Baidu published ten ERNIE 4.5 models on Hugging Face, GitHub and its PaddlePaddle platform under the permissive Apache 2.0 licence. It reversed Baidu's earlier stance of keeping ERNIE closed, after open models like DeepSeek's drew global attention.

• Ten models, from a 0.3B dense model to mixture-of-experts models with up to 424B parameters.
• Active parameters of 47B and 3B in the larger expert models.
• Multimodal design shares some parameters across text and images while keeping dedicated parts for each.
