Axiom Space Expands University Alliance to 36 Institutions, Partners with Exobiosphere
Axiom Space announced October 8, 2026, at the 77th International Astronautical Congress in Antalya, Türkiye, that it is expanding access to low-Earth orbit for the research community and has grown its University Alliance to 36 institutions in 16 countries across four continents. The company also signed a Memorandum of Understanding on October 7 with Exobiosphere, a space biotechnology company, to advance drug discovery in LEO. Chief Science Officer Dr. Lucie Low said the company aims to preserve and expand LEO research access as human spaceflight research shifts from government-led programs to commercial ones.
