ARIA launches Precision Neurotechnologies programme with £69M for 19 teams on circuit-level brain interfaces
ARIA (UK Advanced Research and Invention Agency)Precision Neurotechnologies Programme
ARIA announced the Precision Neurotechnologies programme with £69 million over four years, supporting 19 multidisciplinary teams to develop circuit-level, cell-type-specific brain interfaces for treating Alzheimer's, epilepsy, addiction and depression.
- Four workstreams span non-invasive interfaces, remote interfaces, biological interfaces and future adoption.
- Teams include Oxford, Rice University, Motif Neurotech and MintNeuro, united by circuit-level precision goals.
- First-year results showed early evidence that cell-type-specific neural modulation is possible.
