The brief
- The ARA620 uses plant-by-plant AI detection to reduce chemical use in crop protection by up to 95%.
- In March 2026, Ecorobotix committed $50 million to assemble ARA sprayers in Lyons, Kansas, creating over 80 new jobs.
- Ecorobotix has raised $230.6 million across 13 funding rounds and is valued at approximately $364 million.
Technical approach
Plant-by-plant detection
AI algorithms scan rows, detect weeds versus crops, and identify the species. Only detected weeds get treated, not the entire field.
Micro-application nozzles
Individual nozzles apply product only to target plants, avoiding drift and wasted chemical on non-target areas.
Reduced chemical load
Up to 95% less plant protection product than broadcast sprayers, lowering cost, environmental impact, and chemical residues on crops.
