Current obstacles

Physics limits

Battery chemistry limits flight timeLithium-ion batteries store ~250 Wh/kg. A 10 kg spray load with a 10 kg battery allows only 30–45 minutes of flight, limiting field coverage per mission.
Weather dependencySpraying requires low wind (< 5 m/s typical), so operations are confined to calm mornings and evenings, compressing the effective spray window.
Spray precision vs. speed trade-offFlying slower improves coverage uniformity but covers fewer acres per hour; optimal speed varies by crop, weeds, and desired application rate.

Pre-programmed spray routes

Mapping software defines fields and spray patterns. Drones fly autonomously, applying chemicals at variable rates based on weed or pest imaging.

Docking

XA1 charging and refill station

Drones return to XA1; robotic arms dock, charge, and coordinate with LM1 liquid system.

Liquid System

LM1 auto mixing and refill

LM1 mixes concentrate, measures doses, and refills tanks in dock with no manual work.

Fleet Scheduling

Multi-drone queue management

System queues drones by battery and tank state; one pilot manages the fleet without gaps.
