# Stellantis cancels the all-electric Ram 1500 pickup; the range-extended Ramcharger takes the REV name

Stellantis discontinued development of its full-size battery-electric Ram pickup, citing slowing demand for electric trucks in North America. The range-extended Ramcharger, which uses a petrol engine only as a generator, takes its place and is renamed Ram 1500 REV. The all-electric truck had slipped from late 2024 to mid-2027 before being cancelled.
