Elemind began shipping headbands to a small group of early users in summer 2024 to gather feedback before wider release. In a small study of adults with sleep-onset insomnia, 30 minutes of stimulation shortened the time to fall asleep by 10 to 15 minutes.

## Key facts

- Co-founders include MIT professor Ed Boyden, David Wang, Nir Grossman and Heather Read; CEO Meredith Perry
- Builds on phase-locked stimulation: timing stimuli to the brain's own rhythm
- Audio fades out once the device detects sleep
