San Francisco startup (Y Combinator, Summer 2024) founded by Kaan Dogrusoz and Evan Wineland, a former lead AI product manager at Apple. It sells home robots that fold laundry and tidy, with remote human help when the robot gets stuck.

## In brief

- Isaac 0, a stationary laundry folder, is shipping in California; Isaac 1, a mobile tidying robot, ships from fall 2026.
- Isaac 1 costs $7,999 or $449 a month, among the first general home robots with a public price and date.
- Autonomous by default; a Weave operator takes over remotely for moments the robot cannot handle.

## Programs

- [Isaac 1](https://technooptimist.io/robotics/isaac-1.md) (Robotics): Pilot; next: First Isaac 1 deliveries in California (Q4 2026). On pre-order at $7,999; first deliveries in California from fall 2026, wider US through 2027.

## Technical approach

- **Narrow first: Start with laundry**: Folding is a frequent, well-bounded chore; a stationary folder (Isaac 0) gathers real-home data before a mobile robot does more.
- **Human backup: Remote operators fill gaps**: When the robot is stuck, a Weave specialist takes over briefly and hands control back, so customers get finished tasks while autonomy improves.
- **Furniture design: Collapses when idle**: Isaac 1's torso shrinks and its fabric-covered body tucks away when not working, to fit in a living space.

## Open problems

- **Cloth is hard to handle** (active research): Garments crumple into endless shapes; Isaac 0 still cannot fold large blankets or sheets and takes 30-90 minutes per load.
- **Privacy in the home** (open): Cameras record inside homes and staff may view them remotely; customers ask whether footage trains the AI.

## Latest updates
