## Technical approach

- **Closed loop: Stimulation that follows the brain's state**: Conventional DBS pulses at fixed settings all day; αDBS senses local brain signals and keeps stimulation inside a patient-specific window.
- **Data: Neural recordings sent to the cloud**: A patient remote collects data at home and sends it to WebBioBank, a de-identified platform used for research and algorithm development.

## Open problems

- **Proving adaptive beats conventional** (active research): ADVENT is a blinded crossover of adaptive versus conventional DBS in the same patients; clear superiority is still to be shown in a pivotal trial.
