## Current obstacles

- **Speed race with jet Shaheds**: Jet Shaheds near 500 km/h leave seconds to intercept and outrun the original P1-SUN.
- **Unverified kill claims**: Kill and production numbers come from SkyFall and Ukrainian officials; independent checks are scarce.

## Physics limits

- **Battery limits speed and range**: Doubling a propeller drone's speed takes roughly eight times the power against drag, so faster interceptors fly for fewer minutes and cover less ground.
- **Closing speed**: Against a 500 km/h target the interceptor must be placed ahead of it, not chase it, which needs early, accurate tracking.

## How it works

### Cueing: Radar points the crew

Ukraine's air-defence network tracks incoming Shaheds and directs interceptor crews to launch toward them.

### Chase: Faster than its prey

A Shahed cruises near 185 km/h; P1-SUN at 310 km/h can run it down, and JetKiller at 370 km/h targets jet versions.

### Terminal: AI terminal guidance

JetKiller adds onboard target recognition that locks on in the last seconds, where a human pilot reacts too slowly.

### Kill: Small warhead beside the target

A 500 g charge detonates next to the Shahed; the drone is lost, but costs a small fraction of its target.

## About SkyFall

SkyFall is a Ukrainian drone maker that started in June 2022, months into Russia's full-scale invasion. It builds the Vampire night-flying drone, Shrike FPV drones and the P1-SUN interceptor that Ukraine uses against Shahed attack drones.
