## Current obstacles

- **Relaunch keeps slipping**: Promised for 2026 and still not out by late September; current users cannot download what they made.
- **Sony has no deal**: Without the third major label, a large share of popular music stays off-limits and the lawsuit continues.

## Physics limits

- **Models can echo their training**: Generative models can reproduce close copies of songs they learned from, so filters and fingerprinting are needed on every output.
- **Long-range musical structure**: A song must keep melody, lyrics and form consistent for minutes; small errors over thousands of audio steps make coherence hard.

## How it works

### Prompt: Describe the song

A user types a style, mood or lyrics idea; the model generates a full track with singing and instruments.

### Licensed base: Trained on authorised music

The relaunch model learns only from recordings and songs that labels and publishers have licensed.

### Opt-in artists: Remix with real voices

Fans can make covers and remixes using voices and songs of artists who chose to take part, who are credited and paid.

### Walled garden: Stream, don't download

Creations stay inside the app as streams, and fingerprinting tracks what was made from what.
